Under the tide of globalization, more and more people can immigrate from the birthplace to other countries. In this case, some people firmly believe that living abroad will bring some considerable social and practical trouble for immigrants. I completely agree with this point of view.
As far as I’m concerned, there are several reasons about why I totally agree with it, but in general, they can come down to three main one.
First of all, from a cultural perspective, people who live abroad have to suffer the pain of cultiral shook. For example, a Chinese first arrives in the United States, he may feel uncomfortable with the enthusiasm of the Americans. Except for this, communication barrier can also be a source of trouble. Even if people are able to speak native language, there still be some difficulties in communication due to the difference of first language. A case in point is that some words possess special meanings in some specific circumstances, but foreigners or immigrants don’t know this, and only rely on the literal meaning of these words to understand other people’s words, which leads to unintentional offenses and conflicts in the end.
In addition, from a social perspective, immigrants, especially illegal immigrants may have great impacts on local society such as the large number of African smugglers in Guangzhou, which bring some troubles to the lives of local people. Because these illegal immigrants don’t have proper identification, so they can’t get formal job, which results in great pressure on local order and prejudice against these poor people.
At last, from a practical point of view, in most countries all over the world, immigrants have to confront the greater difficulties in life than local residents such as looking for job, starting a business or getting married, since immigrants don’t possess the same relationship net as natives, which means that these immigrants are sociological atomic men and hard to intergrate into the local society.
To sum up, living abroad will bring some trouble to these immigrants, but it’s worth.
