Nowadays, human societies all over the world are confront a series of serious environmental problem such as ice melting, temperature rising and extinction of creature.

As far as I’m concerned, although there are so many arguments about what’s the most essential environmental problem, in general, they come down to two main one.

On the one hand, some people hold the view that the loss of special species of creatures is the main environmental crisis. On the other hand, some people firmly believe that there are other questions which is far more essential than extinction of creature.

First of all, the thing I have to admit is that there are indeed more and more creature which are extinct or endangered and it’s urgent for all of us to prevent this phenomenon aggravate continuously. Thus more and more governments and NGOs set out to take various action such as proposing protection bill to prohibit poaching, captive breeding of endangered species and many other kinds of ways to protect the rest of creatures. Although it is true that some extinctions of species are partly caused by various human activities, such as the extinction of dodo bird, which is said to be extinct due to overhunting by human. However, recent researchs have revealed that the main cause for the extinction of dodo brid is not overhunting of humans, but the impact of animals brought by human intentionally or unintentionally on the local ecology and the destruction of the habitat of dodo bird by human agriculture.

Therefore, it’s evident that extinction is just appearance, its essence is deterioration of ecology of habitats. These creatures that need to be protected are just a part of whole ecology. If people only take measures such as artificial reproduction to preserve these endangered species and neglect the aggravation of the whole environment, then the efficiency of conservation actions will become quite low since even if these endangered species successfully give birth to offspring in the lab, they still cannot get back into the wild.

So compared with the loss of particular species, how to fix the environment of the world we live in is more significant.

The evidence of climate change is there for all of us to see. Sea-level has risen for a long time and associated flood submerged countless houses, farmlands and forests. As a large amount of plastic waste entered into the entire ecological cycle, every year, many animals are injuried or even killed by it. Leaked petroleum and nuclear wastewater have begun to affect local ecology.

The loss of particular species, both flora and fauna, is result caused by climate change and damage from artificial products. Thus it is urgent for all of us to take action at once to protect the world we depend on.
